Your social media accounts may break down on you in a second. All over ‘X’, the platform we formerly referred to as Twitter, ‘Fly Eagles Fly’ hashtags are popping. You may even notice that Kevin Byard has become a trending topic. Why? The answer is simple. Philadelphia Eagles vice president/general manager Howie Roseman has raided the Tennessee Titans again.
It’s hard to avoid looking at the production that Tennessee is getting from their wide receiver corps (or the lack thereof) and then watch A.J. Brown play football without wondering what they’re thinking. Some of you need some visual aid. We get it.
Just think about it this way. Let this sink in for a second.
As if that isn’t bad enough, or funny enough depending on your paradigm, the Birds and Two-Tone Blue have struck a deal again. Philly lands one of the safeties that we have all prayed they’d make a move for all season. Guess what. Kevin Byard is an Eagle.
It didn’t take long for the news of this addition to travel around social media. One of the best in the game at his position switched conferences and landed with one of the best teams in the National Football Conference.
The Eagles have traded Kevin Byard to the Tennessee Titans in exchange for 2024 fifth and sixth-round picks. The Titans also get Terrell Edmunds out of the deal. Is there a fire sale coming in Tennessee? It’s safe to say the secret has gotten out!
Byard, a Philly native no less, is a five-foot-11, 212-pound jack of all trades who has seemingly mastered all of them. A two-time First-team All-Pro (2017, 2021), he earned spots on the Pro Bowl roster in each of those seasons. He also tied for the NFL’s lead in interceptions in 2017.
He played his college ball at Middle Tennessee (2011–2015). His Number 20 jersey is retired there. Make no mistake. He upgrades the Eagles already impressive secondary simply by showing up.
